Vermont Republican State Senator Faces Calls to Resign
A Vermont Republican state senator is under pressure to resign after a leaked group chat revealed racist and antisemitic language used by him and his wife.
Gov. Phil Scott called on Senator Douglass to resign, stating:
The hateful statements made in this group chat are disgusting and unacceptable.
Douglass, a 27-year-old first-term senator, was part of a group chat with fellow young Republicans from four states, including Vermont.
