Senator Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) addressed the current storm recovery efforts in Western Alaska during his speech at the Alaska Federation of Natives convention.
Sullivan mentioned that he has been in contact with local, tribal, federal, and White House officials to secure as many resources as possible for disaster relief in Alaska.
“Tragically, one life has been lost, two others remain missing as this powerful storm raged, but seeing Alaskans coming together, more than 50 people were rescued by our courageous Coast Guard and the Alaska National Guard forces, that is really incredible. And now we have almost 1,400 Alaskans forced from their homes, sheltering in buildings and temporary shelters,”
Sullivan highlighted the rescue efforts, with over 50 people saved by the Coast Guard and Alaska National Guard.
