A lawsuit filed by EChanging Barcode LCC claims that Ticketmaster has infringed on its patent for rotating barcodes, which aims to prevent users from fraudulently screenshotting tickets.
- The lawsuit was submitted to the federal US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
- The patent in question is US Patent No. 9,047,715, invented by Alan Amron.
- Amron is also taking action against Major League Baseball for its similar use of the technology.
The lawsuit comes amid an ongoing antitrust case against Ticketmaster and Live Nation from the DOJ over SafeTix.
