The Miami Heat and Bam Adebayo are now in a wait-and-see mode after a challenging trip. Following a 122-112 loss to the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena, the Heat finished the trip with a 1-3 record and an overall 4-4 for the season. Yet the mood in the locker room was unsettled not because of the results, but due to uncertainty about Adebayo’s health.
Bam Adebayo, the Heat’s captain and a three-time All-Star center, left the game early in the first quarter with a left foot injury and did not return. Coach Erik Spoelstra shared before departing Denver:
“We don’t know right now. It’s his left foot, so we’ll find out more [Thursday].”
Adebayo is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his left foot in Miami on Thursday to assess the injury’s extent. Reflecting on the situation, he said:
“We’ll figure it out. Get more tests [Thursday] and then see how it goes.”
Adebayo’s availability for the upcoming back-to-back games at Kaseya Center is uncertain. The Heat returns to Miami to start a four-game homestand, beginning with their first in-season tournament group-play game against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday at 8 p.m.
The Heat faces uncertainty with Bam Adebayo’s foot injury as they head into a crucial homestand, awaiting MRI results to determine his status.
