Two Suspects Charged with Common Law Robbery and Kidnapping in Charlotte

Andre and Darnell Davis were arrested following an incident involving Common Law Robbery and Second Degree Kidnapping after assaulting a store employee. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reported that officers from the Providence Division responded to a robbery call on the 2200 block of Park Road.

A confrontation escalated when the store employee challenged the suspects as they attempted to leave without paying for merchandise and was reportedly assaulted during the altercation.

Officers identified the suspects as Andre Desmond Davis, 20, and Darnell Montraite Davis, 39. Ten days later, detectives conducted voluntary interviews with both men, which ended with their arrest and transportation to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.

"The store employee was caught in the turmoil that the suspects unleashed, fleeing post-haste once their actions met resistance."

According to report number 20251020-2154-03, the suspects were taken into custody following the investigation.
