Republican Nassau District Attorney Anne Donnelly has defeated her Democratic challenger Nicole Aloise in the battle for the county's top law enforcement position.
According to the Board of Election results, Donnelly held a roughly 10-point lead over Aloise, with more than 75% of election districts reporting. The incumbent declared victory at the Coral House in Baldwin, joined by County Executive Bruce Blakeman and other Republican candidates.
Both Donnelly and Aloise, a former prosecutor in the district attorney's office, agreed on key policies, including opposing cashless bail laws.
Donnelly celebrated her reelection victory, marking a sweep of all four countywide races for the GOP.
