Strikes on the Palestinian enclave, a humanitarian blockade, and diplomatic tensions are severely testing hopes for a lasting peace plan.
The Israeli army killed 104 Palestinians, including 46 children, within a few hours during the night of Tuesday, October 28, in the Gaza Strip, despite the ceasefire that has been in place since October 10.
By the end of the day on Wednesday, the Israeli army stated that the truce had resumed. However, ten Israeli airstrikes targeted eastern Khan Yunis at dawn on Thursday, where two people were killed in the Sultans neighborhood in Beit Lahiya.
Since the October 10 agreement between Israel and Hamas, brokered by the United States, there have been around 200 Palestinian casualties. The Israeli army is still obstructing the delivery of humanitarian aid and refuses to open the Rafah crossing at the southernmost part of the Gaza Strip.
