A well-known beer brand is making a comeback in a new location. 14er Brewing, which operated in Denver's RiNo neighborhood from 2018 to November 2024, will be revived in Poncha Springs under new ownership.
“It’s a great brand for Chaffee County,”
said Derek Heersink, the buyer and founder of Alamosa's Spare Keg Brewerks. Heersink purchased the company's naming rights and recipes from 14er co-founders Andrew Kaczmarek and Nate Francescato earlier this year.
Heersink, a barley farmer, started Spare Keg in 2017 and believes the 14er brand is a great fit for Chaffee County, which has more 14ers than anywhere in the country.
