"Haunted by her veteran father's suicide — an event she witnessed as a child but no one will discuss — Susan creates a powerful escape. While the Vietnam War rages in her 1970s present, much like Dorothy or Alice in those fantastical stories of Oz and Wonderland, she transports her entire family into a lush, imagined 1940s, seeking answers in a past war."
The story explores Susan's struggle to cope with her past and find the truth.
Author's summary: Film explores trauma and healing.
