30 journalists embody struggle for freely reported environmental coverage

Journalists' Struggle for Environmental Coverage

Thirty journalists face obstacles in reporting on environmental issues, from Cambodia to the Amazon, and from France to Egypt, including obstruction, threats, and violence.

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) highlights these 30 cases of persecuted journalists who covered environmental issues in the past year.

Our goal: to leave no breach of freedom of information unreported.

In light of COP30, starting on November 10 in Belém, Brazil, RSF urges governments to defend reliable reporting and its actors in the fight against climate change.

RSF publishes daily reports, investigations, and a world press freedom ranking from its regional offices and network of correspondents in 115 countries.

Author's summary: Journalists face persecution for environmental reporting.
