Hurricane Melissa to Make Landfall in Jamaica
Hurricane Melissa has strengthened into a category 5 storm, located south of Jamaica, with sustained winds of 160 MPH and slow westward movement.
The National Hurricane Center forecasts a stronger storm tracking further west, exposing more of Jamaica's southern coast to the storm's right front quadrant.
Despite potential land friction, the storm is expected to remain a Category 4 or 5 hurricane when it makes landfall in Jamaica early Tuesday morning.
The island nation and others are preparing for potentially one of the strongest storms on record.
