Windows 10 Extended Support Upgrade Programme Explained
Windows 10 Extended Security Updates (ESU) is a paid subscription providing security patches after mainstream support of Windows 10 has ended.
Key features of ESU include:
- Provides security patches for a maximum of three years
- Only includes "critical" and "important" security updates
- Does not include technical support, non-security fixes, or new features
- Customers with technical issues unrelated to ESU updates are advised to upgrade to Windows 11
- Does not provide complete patching, excluding vulnerabilities rated as "moderate" or "low"
ESU only provides security patches.
