Carlos Miguel's start at Palmeiras has been far from easy since arriving from Nottingham Forest. He replaced first-choice Weverton, who injured his hand last week.
His first two games were extremely tough, facing Flamengo in a top-of-the-table clash and then travelling to Quito to meet LDU in the Copa Libertadores semi-final. Palmeiras lost both matches, conceding six goals in total – three in each.
In just two appearances, Carlos Miguel surpassed the number of goals he allowed during his entire spell as a backup at Corinthians. Palmeiras paid €5.5m for the 25-year-old, the highest fee ever spent by the club for a goalkeeper.
