Tavaris Moore Drops Out of Kinston's Mayoral Race
Tavaris 'Spunk' Moore announced his withdrawal from the race on Sunday, citing health reasons.
"I entered this race when our city was in distress, eager to be the change we needed. However, due to unforeseen health and well-being reasons, I must step down. I am grateful to everyone who joined our journey to create a safe and equitable Kinston for all citizens."
Moore endorsed Kareem Moore, the other candidate running against Don Hardy, stating that his vision aligns with their aspirations for the city.
"We believe Kareem's vision aligns most closely with our aspirations for the city. Our goal was always to show Kinston we had options, and did not have to settle for what has been done- but demanding more."
