There are six levels of autonomous driving, ranging from 0 to 5. Notably, Waymo operates at Level 4, which allows driving without human input within specific areas and conditions.

- Tesla's Autopilot and Full Self-Driving: Level 2, with some arguing FSD approaches Level 3
At Level 3, the car can handle driving tasks under certain conditions, but the driver must still be ready to take control. However, no Level 3 tech is currently legal on US roads.
