State water officials have heard public feedback on the proposed water conservation program as Wyoming prepares for the fallout of Colorado River negotiations.
A draft of the state's Green River pilot water conservation program was presented during a meeting, with the 11 deadline to finish the Colorado River negotiations fast approaching.
Brandon Gebhart, the state engineer responsible for managing and regulating water within Wyoming, provided an update on the talks during a Colorado River Advisory Committee meeting, noting that discussions between the basin states
"are continuing".
The draft program is considered
"a Good Starting Point"but there's room for improvement.
