The provincial government has delivered housing and hope to Indigenous women and children.
Brantford-Brant MPP Will Bouma and Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae announced $4.895 million in provincial funding for a new supportive housing project led by Brant Native Housing (BNH).
Rae is a parliamentary assistant to Rob Flack, the province’s Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing. Plans call for construction of the 12-unit building at 309 Campbell St.
“This project is more than bricks and mortar,” said BNH president Dr. Andrew Trevor. “It’s a renewed commitment to ensure Indigenous women and children have access to safe, affordable, supportive housing that is free from violence. It’s a symbol of what can be achieved when communities work together.”
Trevor said Brant Native Housing is extremely grateful for the Ontario government’s support.
