Third Severe Mpox Case Reported
LA County is investigating a possible local spread of mpox, with the latest case being an adult who was hospitalized and is now recovering at home.
The other two cases were recently reported by L.A County and Long Beach, but officials say there is no link between the cases at this time.
Investigation Details
- The county is partnering with the California Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to investigate.
- Surveillance and contact tracing are underway to find any more cases and the possible source.
