Penguins' Filip Hallander on New Roles and Team Performance
Los Angeles saw an unusual scene as Rickard Rakell, a top liner and scorer, took on a penalty killer role. Rakell, who scored a career-high 35 goals last season, assisted Filip Hallander in his first NHL goal during the Penguins' 4-2 win over the LA Kings.
Filip Hallander, a fellow Swede, has been finding his footing as a top-line winger. He became the latest Penguins rookie to score his first NHL goal this season, following in the footsteps of Harrison Brunicke and Ben Kindel.
"It feels good,"
despite being outplayed, the Penguins managed to tie the game 2-2 in the third period. Rakell and Hallander had a shorthanded two-on-one opportunity, with Rakell's shot hitting the crossbar.
