Alex Bregman's Free Agency
Alex Bregman, the Red Sox third baseman, has opted out of his contract and become a free agent after a bounce-back season.
Bregman's performance included a .273 batting average and 18 home runs in Boston, a significant improvement from his previous season where he hit .260.
Notably, Bregman's signing of a 3-year, $120 million contract in February sparked controversy, as it led to All-Star Rafael Devers being asked to change positions, which he declined, resulting in his trade to San Francisco.
Despite a second half slump and a quad injury, the 31-year-old will have suitors in free agency.
Represented by agent Scott Boras, Bregman's future in baseball is anticipated to be promising, with several teams potentially interested in acquiring him.
