Wis. paramedics say ambulance breakdowns highlight unreliability of aging fleet

Ambulance Breakdowns in Wis. Highlight Fleet's Unreliability

Paramedics in River Falls, Wis., are raising concerns about the reliability of their ambulance fleet after two of five Allina Health EMS units failed within 24 hours.

One ambulance broke down, stranding a crew and patient, while another would not start after a hospital transport. Paramedics cite recurring issues with the aging fleet, with one 17-year-old truck being deemed "not reliable" by Allina Paramedic Judy Seeberger.

"The other half of my brain is going through all the different workarounds that I have to ensure that the equipment that should work, if it doesn’t work, what do I do?"

Seeberger's comments highlight the need for a reliable and well-maintained fleet to ensure safety and effective service.
