Community Support for Evacuees
Donations have been pouring into Bethel Search and Rescue after the remnants of Typhoon Halong hit the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta.
The Bethel Search and Rescue building was filled with volunteers and recent evacuees on Tuesday, Oct. 14. Families from affected villages collected essential goods and clothes from overflowing tables.

- said volunteer Kaitlin Andrew. Her family members, including her father, were still sheltering in Kwigillingok, a coastal community nearly destroyed by the storm.
- Roughly 400 people were sheltered at the school awaiting evacuation as of Oct. 14.
- The storm caused significant damage and displacement in the affected villages.
