First Alert Weather: Warm days, cool nights and chance for rain this weekend
Today will be slightly warmer with highs in the mid-to-upper 80s through west Alabama. Sunny skies and unseasonably warm conditions continue across central Alabama with highs near the mid-80s this afternoon.
Light northeasterly breezes will persist in bringing dry air our way. Tonight stays mild with lows near the upper 50s to around 60.
If you’re headed to the Jax State game this evening, conditions should be a little warm at kickoff at 6:30 p.m., cooling into the mid-60s by the end of the game.
The Next 24 Hours
High pressure will likely begin to slide east on Thursday as a trough develops across the Southwest. We should stay mostly sunny and warm with highs close to the mid-80s again.
Overnight lows Thursday will likely drop into the low 60s under partly cloudy skies.
This Weekend
Moisture is expected to increase Friday into Saturday ahead of an approaching cold front. Clouds should thicken Friday, and scattered showers may begin to develop late in the day.
