Zelensky and Trump to Meet in Washington
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump confirmed plans to meet in Washington on October 17.
The meeting follows two phone calls between the leaders regarding Ukraine's air defenses and long-range capabilities, amid escalating Russian attacks.
"The phone calls were not enough" to discuss all key topics, said Zelensky at a press conference alongside EU diplomacy chief Kaja Kallas.
This will be the fifth meeting between Trump and Zelensky since the US president returned to office in January, and will take place at the invitation of Washington.
Previous meetings include one in New York during the UN gathering.
