A planning appeal from Irish Cement regarding the construction of 137 new homes near its factory in Mungret has been rejected by An Coimisiún Pleanála.

The building of 139 homes along the N69 can proceed, as ruled by the national planning appeals body, which backed Limerick City and County Council's decision to grant permission.
