Vancouver Island Symphony bringing piano phenom to Nanaimo
Stewart Goodyear will play Ravel, Rossini and Dvorak on Oct. 18 at the Port Theatre
A pianist who has been called one of the best of his generation will be the guest artist at the Vancouver Island Symphony's upcoming concert.
The VIS will bring Stewart Goodyear to Nanaimo for 'Goodyear Plays Ravel' on Oct. 18.
The accomplished concert pianist, improviser and composer will be making his debut performance with the V.I. Symphony for
an evening of vibrant and lively orchestral masterpieces, according to a press release.
The concert will feature Ravel's Piano Concerto,
a dazzling blend of jazz influences and lyrical beauty that showcases his innovative style, as well as Rossini’s L’italiana in Algeri Overture and Dvorak’s Symphony No.
This concert is a celebration of rhythm and colour, offering a dynamic journey through the unique voices of these master composers, the release added.
