The Trump administration will not provide financial assistance to struggling producers until the government shutdown ends, according to Ag Secretary Brooke Rollins.
A $13 billion transfer from the Commodity Credit Corporation account was made on September 28, 2025, to fund the aid package, but the terms and size of the package have not been announced.
“Once we do that, we’ll be able to move out a significant program to help our farmers,”
Rollins stated, emphasizing the need for the government to reopen to move forward with the assistance.
Secretary Rollins and President Trump attribute the sluggish farm economy to former President Joe Biden’s inaction.
