Agriculture and Forestry Minister of Türkiye announced the EU's approval of the GI status, highlighting the importance of this recognition for regional products. The geographical indication guarantees that only products genuinely originating from Kahramanmaras can be sold as Maras coregi, helping preserve cultural heritage and supporting local producers.
Maras coregi is a traditional Turkish pastry renowned for its distinct flavor and craftsmanship. It reflects the culinary traditions of Kahramanmaras province, and its GI status helps safeguard its authentic preparation against imitation.
