Jetstar Restores International Flights to Avalon

Jetstar, the low-cost carrier, will resume international flights from Avalon Airport starting next March, offering a service to Bali for the first time since early 2020. The airline is also reinstating its Avalon-Adelaide route and increasing flights to Brisbane.

“This is a massive step forward for Jetstar at Melbourne Avalon Airport. We’re launching two new routes and adding more seat capacity than ever before,” said CEO Stephanie Tully.

She emphasized that these new and expanded services provide more affordable travel options for Victorians, from family holidays in Bali to weekend getaways in Adelaide or Brisbane. The investment is expected to increase passenger numbers through Melbourne’s second airport, boosting regional economic growth.

Impact on Avalon Airport and Region

The expansion will add more than 330,000 seats annually to and from Avalon. Ariel Suss, CEO of Avalon Airport, highlighted the benefits for both local residents and tourists.
