Timberwolves Rout Kings 144-117 for Fourth Win in Five Games

Anthony Edwards led seven Minnesota players scoring in double figures with 26 points as the Timberwolves secured their sixth consecutive victory in Sacramento. The team has clearly found its rhythm when facing the Kings on their home court.

Edwards contributed 26 points, four rebounds, five assists, and two steals, steering the Wolves to a dominant 144-117 win over Sacramento on Sunday night. The Timberwolves (6-4) have now won four of their last five games, delivering their second straight commanding performance.

Although the margin wasn’t as wide as Friday’s 40-point blowout against Utah, Minnesota trailed only briefly early in the game. The Wolves shot 53.6% from the field, made 18 of 46 three-pointers, and capitalized on 18 Kings turnovers to score 37 points.

“Another complete game on both ends of the floor,” Wolves coach Chris Finch told reporters. “I thought we were really sharp, which is what we needed. We built on our last performance and carried that momentum forward. I’m really pleased with how we’re starting games defensively.”

Playing in his third game back from a hamstring injury that sidelined him for four contests, Edwards went 7-of-16 from the field, 5-of-11 on three-pointers, and 7-of-8 from the free-throw line. Following his 37-point night Friday against the Jazz, he has now hit 12 of his last 23 attempts from deep across the two games.
