The Canada postal strike has escalated as rotating strikes continue across multiple provinces, impacting mail delivery times and parcel services during the busy holiday season.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), representing over 50,000 workers—including letter carriers, mail handlers, and plant employees—initiated the rotating strikes earlier this month after prolonged unsuccessful contract negotiations with Canada Post.
“We’ve been patient for too long,” said CUPW national president Jan Simpson. “Our members deserve fair pay, safe working conditions, and respect for the critical public service they provide.”
Mail services have been disrupted in several provinces including Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec, and Alberta, affecting both individual and business delivery schedules.
Author’s summary: The ongoing rotating postal strikes highlight workers’ demands for fair wages and safer conditions, deeply affecting Canada's mail system during a crucial shipping period.
