Women's Soccer Falls to Columbia, Ending Championship Hopes

Harvard women’s soccer team traveled to New York City on Saturday to face the Columbia Lions. After a tense 90-minute match, Harvard fell 2–1, closing the door on their postseason ambitions.

Entering the game with determination, Harvard aimed to finish the season strong. Earlier in the fall, the team struggled with injuries, lineup changes, and inconsistency, raising doubts about its competitiveness in the challenging Ivy League.

Despite early setbacks, Harvard rallied midseason and rose in the Ivy standings, positioning itself as a potential contender for the league title. However, a painful senior night defeat to the University of Pennsylvania the previous weekend left the Crimson needing at least one point in New York to keep its championship hopes alive.

Columbia, fresh off its own loss to Princeton, entered the match equally hungry to rebound. In the end, the Lions’ effort prevailed, securing the victory and extinguishing Harvard’s remaining chances.
