The Hong Kong Cricket Sixes 2025 will be held from November 7 to November 9. This tournament returns following its revival in 2024 after an absence since 2017.
Cricket has been played in Hong Kong for over a century, with the earliest recorded match dating back to 1842. The Super Sixes tournament was created to provide Hong Kong players — who historically had limited exposure to elite opponents — an opportunity to compete alongside international stars. It originally ran annually between 1993 and 1997, and then from 2001 to 2012, before the rise of franchise T20 leagues pushed it into obscurity.
The event has featured cricket legends such as Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, and Shane Warne.
There are 12 teams divided into four groups. The top two teams from each group will progress to the quarterfinals. Winners of the quarterfinals move to the semi-finals, while the losing teams enter the Plate semi-finals. Teams finishing last in their groups compete in the Bowl competition.
An India Test cricket legend is set to feature in the Hong Kong Sixes following retirement from the IPL.
"The tournament was originally created to give Hong Kong players — whose national team had little exposure to top-tier opposition — a chance to rub shoulders with international stars."
