Road Closures in the City for Pageant Day Tomorrow
The Christmas Pageant, marking the start of the festive season, takes place tomorrow morning. Road users are advised to plan their journeys carefully due to multiple road closures across the CBD.
Event Details and Impact
Major roads will be closed from early morning until the afternoon, as the event expects over 300,000 spectators lining the streets for the annual celebration.
Pageant Route
- Starts at South Terrace
- Turns onto King William Street
- Follows the western edge of Tarntanyangga
- Passes through Reconciliation Plaza, Wakefield Street, Pulteney Street
- Continues along North Terrace
- Ends at Beehive Corner
Official Advice
"The Christmas Pageant brings huge numbers to the city each year so road closures will be in place tomorrow morning to keep everyone safe," said Charles Mountain, RAA Senior Manager Safety and Infrastructure.
"On-street parking will be as rare as a white Christmas, so check for off-street options and allow plenty of extra time if you’re driving to the Pageant."
