Saoirse Ronan, Anna Sawai, Aimee Lou Wood, and Mia McKenna-Bruce have been cast as the wives of The Beatles in the upcoming film series The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event.
Each portrayed character married a member of the iconic band during its peak in the 1960s.
The ambitious project is directed by Sam Mendes. Sony Pictures officially announced the casting after finalizing contracts with the actresses.
“Maureen, Linda, Yoko and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right — and I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure,” said Mendes.
The film series will focus on the perspective of each Beatles member as their careers evolve from Liverpool unknowns in the early 1960s to global superstars before their 1970 breakup.
This marks the first time the band and their families have granted music and life rights for a feature film about their story.
Linda McCartney, born Linda Eastman, met Paul McCartney in 1967 while working as a photographer.
Summary: The Beatles biopic series, directed by Sam Mendes, casts Saoirse Ronan and others as the band’s wives, providing a fresh take on their legendary rise and personal lives.
