Ryan Murphy, Hollywood’s champion of bad taste, has delivered one of the weakest productions ever released on Disney+. All’s Fair, starring Kim Kardashian, is described as a true disaster wrapped in a glossy package.
Kim Kardashian has never followed predictable choices. In 2014, after her wedding to Kanye West at the Forte di Belvedere in Florence, the couple skipped the expected luxury destinations and instead flew to Cork Airport. Their honeymoon reportedly included a stay at Castlemartyr and a trip to Portlaoise to watch a 3pm screening of X-Men: Days of Future Past at the local Storm Cinema. Even then, she chose the road less traveled.
Now long divorced from Kanye West, Kardashian continues to live according to her own standards, seemingly unaffected by public judgment.
Her latest project, All’s Fair, reflects that fearless independence — but for all the wrong reasons. The series is labeled by critics as a “proper atrocity exhibition,” one of Disney+’s poorest offerings to date. For many viewers, that’s saying something, especially after watching titles like She-Hulk.
Despite its failings, Kardashian’s influence has attracted an impressive cast of Hollywood veterans. Naomi Watts appears bewildered and miscast, reminiscent of her role in King Kong, where she pretended to love a giant gorilla. Glenn Close, too, looks visibly puzzled by the chaotic direction and shallow writing.
“Whatever else can be said about Kim Kardashian, the original of the influencer species could never be accused of doing the obvious thing.”
This glossy courtroom melodrama showcases Kim Kardashian’s confidence but fails to deliver substance, leaving even its star-studded cast stranded in confusion.
