Fatima Bosch, Miss Universe Mexico 2025, spoke out against what she described as disrespectful behavior by Nawat Itsaragrisil, a Thai businessman and Miss Universe president for Asia and Oceania. The incident took place during a preliminary event in Bangkok on November 3.
During the event, Itsaragrisil reportedly ordered Bosch to stand and questioned her about missing a sponsor photoshoot. The situation escalated, prompting several contestants to stand up and leave in support of Bosch.
“Anyone who wants to continue in the competition, sit down,” Itsaragrisil is heard saying on video, also calling for security to remove Bosch.
Bosch later told reporters,
“We are empowered women, and this platform is meant to give us a voice — no one can silence us.”
She claimed Itsaragrisil insulted her by calling her “stupid” and said he was upset due to personal issues with the Miss Universe organization. Bosch explained:
“I’m here doing everything right — I don’t bother anyone, I try to be kind, I’m doing my best — and he told me to shut up.”
Despite the confrontation, Bosch emphasized her respect for Thailand and urged women not to accept degrading treatment.
The tense encounter between Fatima Bosch and a Miss Universe official led to a contestant walkout, highlighting calls for respect and dignity in the pageant community.
