Free Transit for Veterans on Remembrance Day

To honour the service and sacrifice of veterans and active military members, TransLink will provide them free transit on Tuesday, November 11, during Remembrance Day.

Eligibility for Free Transit

Eligible individuals can present a badge, military ID, Veteran’s Service Card, or wear their uniform to receive free transit access.

Transit Access Details

Participants do not need to tap their Compass Card when boarding buses or HandyDART. At SkyTrain and SeaBus stations, accessible fare gates will remain open between 8 a.m. and the end of service.

Recognition of Indigenous Veterans

TransLink will also commemorate National Indigenous Veterans Day on Saturday, November 8, acknowledging the important contributions and sacrifices of Indigenous veterans to global peace and security.

Community Involvement

The Royal Canadian Legion will distribute poppies by donation at several Metro Vancouver transit hubs.

Customers are invited to use public transit to attend Remembrance Day ceremonies across the region.
