Abhishek Sharma and Varun Chakravarthy Lead T20 Rankings
Abhishek Sharma and Varun Chakravarthy continue to hold the top positions in the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20I rankings for batsmen and bowlers, respectively. Sharma leads the batters with a rating of 925 points, ahead of England’s Phil Salt and Tilak Verma. India’s captain, Suryakumar Yadav, is the only other Indian in the top 10, ranking eighth.
Pakistan Players Making Notable Progress
Following Pakistan's 2-1 series victory over South Africa at home, three Pakistani players climbed significantly in the ICC T20I batters’ rankings:
- Babar Azam rose nine places to tie for 30th position.
- Saim Ayub surged 10 spots to 39th.
- Salman Agha advanced 10 places to 54th.
Top Bowlers’ Rankings Remain Competitive
Varun Chakravarthy remains the top-ranked T20I bowler, followed by West Indies' Akeal Hossein and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, who hold second and third places respectively. Below them, there was some movement:
- Australia’s Adam Zampa dropped from fourth to seventh.
- Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga, England’s Adil Rashid, and Nuwan Thushara (Hasaranga’s teammate) each moved up one spot.
Australia fast bowler Josh Hazlewood notably improved, climbing two places to tenth after strong performances against India at home. Chakravarthy is the only Indian featured in the top 10 bowlers’ list.
