Claressa Shields, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and five-division professional champion, has signed a multi-fight promotional deal worth at least $8 million, potentially the richest guaranteed contract in female boxing history.
The Flint native announced the agreement on Thursday. Details about the number of fights or the timing and location of her next bout remain undisclosed, though Shields has indicated she plans to compete early in 2026.
The contract is with her longtime promoter, Salita Promotions, and Wynn Records, a well-known music promotion company.
“This deal represents more than just a contract, it’s a statement,” Shields said. “I’ve fought my entire career to prove that women’s boxing deserves equal respect, equal pay, and equal opportunity. Partnering with Salita Promotions and Wynn Records gives me the platform to keep breaking barriers inside and outside the ring. Together, we’re building something that’s never been done before.”
At 30 years old and standing 5-foot-8, Shields has continually elevated women's boxing through her achievements and advocacy for equality in the sport.
