Republicans Projected to Hold Majority in Nassau County Legislature

With approximately 76% of countywide votes counted, the Nassau County Legislature is expected to remain under Republican control, with a predicted split of 11 Republicans and 8 Democrats.

The current Legislature has a Republican majority with an 11-7 split, following a vacancy in District 15 after John Ferretti left to become Hempstead town supervisor. Prior to this vacancy, Republicans held a 12-7 majority.

After the election, Democrats gained one seat, flipping District 14. The Nassau County Legislature consists of 19 legislators, each representing one of the county's 19 districts.
