Election Roundup: Lumberton City Council
Lumberton City Council members Melissa Robinson, John Carroll, John Cantey, and Owen Thomas have been reelected.
- Each member was the only name on the ballot and won by a wide margin.
- In Precinct 5, John Cantey won with 202 votes, despite two write-in campaigns by Keith Copeland and Darryl Genus.
“First and foremost, I’d like to thank God, all of our church families, civic groups and especially the residents of Precinct 5 for entrusting me to a sixth term as their representative,”
Cantey has served on the board since 2005 and won a sixth term with over 88% of the votes.
