According to local media reports, the 25-year-old male friend, who runs an automobile shop, was left unconscious for hours after being attacked with a sickle, resulting in a deep gash to his skull. He is currently hospitalized.

The 21-year-old victim, a first-year postgraduate student at a private college, was with her male friend on November 2, a holiday, when they visited a deserted area behind the Coimbatore Airport. The accused, who were passing by, noticed the vehicle and subsequently committed the crime.
