20 Years Later, Memories of Tornado Still Echo

Memories and pain from a tornado still linger in Evansville's mobile home park, 20 years after the disaster.

You can see the pain in the eyes of the maintenance worker who was at Eastbrook Mobile Home Park when an F3 tornado struck, taking 20 lives.

November 6 will mark the 20th anniversary of the night the tornado hit Eastbrook. The maintenance worker, still employed at the park, winces at the mention of it and politely declines to talk about it.

The property manager initially refused to cooperate with a series of stories by the Courier & Press, citing "negative publicity" for the park, now known as Waterford Pointe Community.

("It's negative publicity for our park")
(The tornado) "really has nothing to do with us"

The pain and memories of the tornado still echo in the community.

Author's summary: Tornado memories still haunt Evansville mobile home park 20 years later.
