Gang Crackdown in Cape Town
Nearly 1,000 police officers have been deployed to Cape Town's gang hotspots, resulting in over 700 arrests of suspected gang members in the past seven months.
Authorities have reported significant progress in tackling gang activity in areas such as Tafelsig, Muizenberg, Grassy Park, and Manenberg.
"We've arrested about 54,947 suspects for being in possession of drugs for the last seven months."
Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe emphasized that community cooperation is crucial in keeping gang violence under control.
