Mass General Brigham Addresses Primary Care Doctor Shortage with AI

Mass General Brigham has launched an AI app to address a critical shortage of primary care doctors. The app, called "Care Connect," questions patients, reviews medical records, and produces a list of potential diagnoses.

The platform was launched on September 9 for the 15,000 MGB patients without a primary care doctor, providing a chatbot available 24/7 that interviews the patient and sets up a telehealth appointment with a physician in as little as half an hour.

Mass General Brigham is among the first health care systems nationally to roll out the app, aiming to ease the shortage of primary care doctors.
