The Sopranos' Alternative Theme Song
The Sopranos has a iconic opening title sequence, featuring Tony Soprano driving through New Jersey, accompanied by the song "Woke Up This Morning" by Alabama 3.
However, creator David Chase initially considered a different song, by Elvis Costello, which would have explicitly stated the show's themes.
It would have been a terrible choice, ruining the show's subtle approach.
Luckily, Chase opted for the more subtle and soulful "Woke Up This Morning", making The Sopranos' opening sequence one of the most perfect in television history.
