Google is partnering with NextEra Energy to reopen the Duane Arnold Energy Center in Iowa, which was closed in 2020.
The goal is to power Google's data centers with the plant's energy output, adding to the company's growing portfolio of zero-carbon energy sources.
Neither company disclosed financial terms of the deal.
The plant was shut down due to damage from a summer derecho that affected the secondary containment system.
