Residents near Andy's Place, a low-barrier housing facility in Everett, are worried about the need for more controls due to disturbances in the area.
A neighboring resident reported that security has witnessed drug use across the street from the facility, but they are prevented from responding to activity offsite.
Since Andy's Place opened in 2021, the area has attracted "loitering, open drug use, and trash in the surrounding area," including drug dealers, said Jose Villalaz, a resident and member of the Port Gardner Neighborhood Association.
Compass Health CEO Tom Sebastian stated that these disturbances "are unrelated to our facility, residents or staff," and that the Everett Police Department addresses these concerns.
