Justice Unveils Blueprint to Cut Remand Population
A legal thinktank, Justice, has introduced a plan to reduce the number of people jailed before their trial, citing that too many are being unnecessarily imprisoned.
The blueprint includes flow charts to guide magistrates' decisions and increased support for legal advisers to address the issue.
